The Insurance Council of New Jersey (ICNJ) provides its members with an array of services and support. We work hard to recognize and address the unique needs of each of our members, big and small.

ICNJ Membership is broken down into Voting Members and Associate Members.

Voting Members consist of any individual insurance company or group of insurance companies authorized to write insurance in New Jersey.  Insurance companies that are commonly owned, affiliated or otherwise within a group shall comprise a “voting member” for membership in the ICNJ and for allocation of membership dues.

Associate Members consist of our industry colleague companies including any agents associations, defense counsels, claims processing companies, national trade associations or other organizations with an interest in the conduct of property and casualty insurance business in New Jersey.

ICNJ educates its members.

Regulatory and legislative changes can offer business opportunities or can necessitate business changes. Educational seminars, member conference calls and newsletter updates are some of the ways the ICNJ works to ensure its members comply with relevant New Jersey laws and regulations.

ICNJ informs its members.

ICNJ monitors and informs members about important actions taken by the New Jersey Legislature, Executive Branch, Departments, business organizations and consumer groups.

ICNJ advocates for its members.

With a daily presence in Trenton, ICNJ advances the views of New Jersey’s property/casualty industry by working to foster relationships with legislative and regulatory leaders, and by serving as a source of timely and credible information for the state’s policymakers

ICNJ facilitates networking between members.

The New Jersey property/casualty market is fiercely competitive. On issues critical to our industry, ICNJ’s members, however, operate as a community of professionals. Committees such as Government Affairs, Fraud and Workers’ Compensation, in addtion to educational seminars and membership meetings provide an interpersonal aspect to our business and the opportunity to develop professional relationships.
